This was our first Memorial Day since being married that we did not participate in the Bangerter extended family Memorial Day breakfast at Grandma and Grandpa Bangerter's house. Being so far away in New Mexico, we decided to have our own big breakfast of pancakes, eggs, and orange juice. Adam leaves between 5:30- 6:00 a.m. every morning so we normally do not eat breakfast together. It was fun to spend some time together at breakfast and listen to patriotic music since we missed out on Grandma Bangerter's trumpet solo.
After breakfast we decided to take a hike in the Sandia Mountains just to the East of us. It was a different kind of hike being surrounded with catcus instead of sagebrush, but it was still beautiful. Unfortunately our camera ran out of batteries, so we only got a few pictures. Later that night we had our own BBQ in a nearby park we we ate,and played Croquet. We played two games, and I won both games!! Adam usually wins, so it was a great night!
